You have the option to either rent/purchase a Qwest approved modem or use a Qwest DSL modem you already own. Call us if you are not sure. You can purchase a modem during the order process or purchase it at a major retail outlet like Best Buy or Comp USA. Generally retail stores will charge you more but you can have it right now. If your DSL service is not up yet we recommend ordering through the modem through Qwest. The shipping will offset the extra price at the retail stores.

Although most customers choose to self install their DSL modem you have the option of a technican coming to your location to install and configure your service.

Qwest DSL is available as a stand alone service. This service provides DSL across a phone line but without the phone service.

Single static IPs per circuit are available at an additional monthly fee for those customers who need a consistant IP address.

Broadband pricing can be confusing with a lot of fine print, conditions and only half the cost being displayed. PSNI believes the customer should be provided with full disclosure upfront.

Be aware other Qwest advertised prices may appear to be lower. To get the lower price you must have a qualifying higher priced phone service plan.

Qwest DSL pricing when using an independant ISP (Internet Service Provider) is broken into two parts: Qwest charges the customer for providing high speed access across your phone line. This is sort of like providing the pipe. PSNI, the ISP, provides access to the Internet and related Internet services; the water through the pipe.

Qwest one time and monthly charges show up on your phone bill and PSNI bills you directly.

• Once your order is placed you will receive an e-mail with your date your service will be operational and a confirmation the order was received.
• Service will generally be available within 3-5 business days.
• Within one business day a second e-mail will follow with your PSNI DSL setup information.
• If you ordered a modem it should be delivered by the operational date.
• Installation is normally a simple operation of connecting the modem to your computer, plug in the power, follow the setup instructions and you are up.
• There is no reason for a technican to visit unless you prefer professional assistance.
